Learning Courses

The following is the explanation of the learning courses of The College of Tokyo Judo Therapy. For the program of each academic year, see the annual curriculum. The learning courses contain "Professional course", "Professional Basic course" and "Basic course."

Professional course
Points of learning -To understand the essence of Judo therapy and form personality with healthy mind and body and manners
-To understand the logics systematically and develop the ability to solve problems and deal with social demands
-To obtain knowledge and skills for treating external injuries and develop the ability to handle and analyze a clinical case

Clinical Judo therapy 3.Judo therapy basic practice
4.General theory of soft tissue damage
Judo therapy skill practice
5. General theory of bone dislocation and details (upper limb, lower limb and other parts) and skill practice
6. General theory of bone fracture and details (upper limb, lower limb, trunk, etc.) and skill practice
7. Theory and skill practice of aftercare, bandaging and anchorage
8. Theory and skill practice of Judo therapy first aid
Clinical exercise Experience in a clinical site and understanding and experience of each treatment method

Professional basic course
Learning points -To understand the human body structure, function, mental and physical development systematically
-To obtain advance knowledge about health, diseases, external injuries, disorder treatment and develop judgment
-To understand professional ethics and roles of healthcare, medicine and welfare

Anatomy To understand the body structure and structure and function of each organ

Summary of surgery Medical knowledge of surgical diseases and treatment methods
Orthopedic surgery Medical knowledge of orthopedic surgical diseases and treatment methods
General clinical medicine Medical knowledge of basic medical examinations, inspections, clinical medicine
Physiology To understand normal body functions
Health and public hygiene Medical knowledge of environment and health, local healthcare and public health administration
Kinematics Structure and function of motor organs
Summary of pathology Medical knowledge of body configuration and function change by diseases
Rehabilitation medicine Medical knowledge of rehabilitation and treatment based on anatomy of function
Related laws
To understand the basic law system, Judo therapist law and related regulations
Judo practice To learn about Judo history, rules of decorum and Judo forms to improve mind, skill and body

Basic class
Learning points -To understand human rights and dignity
-To obtain ability to think scientifically and logically
-To develop free and voluntary judgment
-To have power to deal with informatization
-To develop the ability to acknowledge other cultures and international standards
Subjects Contents of Learning Total
Sociology To develop ability to understand the relations between individuals and society, social structure, social movement, etc.
14 credits
Psychology To obtain knowledge to be the base to deepen acknowledgment of humans (relations with others)
Clinical psychology To obtain basic knowledge to apply knowledge related to psychology and counseling
Traditional medicine To learn about oriental medicine system and acknowledge the position of Japanese traditional medicine in the world and issues
Social practice bases
1. To understand medical insurance system, social responsibility comprehensively and obtain the skill to write business letters, etc.
2. To brush up public speaking skills and counseling skills and obtain emergency life guard license
Information technology
To acquire basic and professional skills to operate a computer and PC applications

Note:
In the basic class, each subject has been established for the purpose of acquiring "cultural accomplishments" necessary for a person required by the society based on the "learning points" of the curriculum guideline and social environment.
